Rest In Paradise, TerKisha Sligh
We at TMOTTGoGo/TMOTTRadio are sadly mourning the loss of TerKisha Newell-Sligh (fondly known to the Go-Go Community as FatCat – aka – The Mother of GoGo). TerKisha was a woman with a beautiful soul and a type of passion for the ENTIRE Go-Go culture and its music that only a handful people possess… with no type of personal agenda being attached to it. She supported EVERYONE!!! Her loss is truly a loss for the entire culture.
Therefore, we would like to ask the entire community to join us in prayers and condolences going up and out to TerKisha’s family and many many friends, as they go through this moment in time.
Rest In Paradise, Sweet Soul!
Presentation Video Tribute Footage of Anwan “Big G” Glover
The following video is a clip that was presented by Ron Moten and showcased at the DMV Honors Anwan Glover (most notable as the front man of the Backyard, as well as the character Slim Charles from the acclaimed HBO series “The Wire”), which took place at the Howard Theatre on January 18, 2014.
In this clip contains footages, not of the music artist or actor that we all know Big G to be, but instead the community services that he has and continues to be part of.
In short, this clip is an example of all the great things that people in the Go-Go Industry and other forms of music have been doing in the DMV. The DC-M.U.S.I.C. will highlight other DC artists who have done the same.
